I am drawn to its combination of practical data training, recognised qualifications and recruitment support, particularly the opportunity to build on my analytics work and move into an entry-level data role. The programme’s inclusion of business analysis also fits my Business Management degree and BCS Business Analysis Foundation qualification. My portfolio project demonstrates how I work with data from extraction through communication. I used SQL to query anonymised retail transactions, checked and documented data quality issues, then used Python 3 and Excel to prepare and validate the analysis dataset. I created Tableau dashboards and reports showing product and seasonal patterns, and presented practical recommendations in plain language to a non-technical review panel. I can bring a sound foundation in the programme’s core tools and subjects, including expert-level Excel , SQL, Python 3, Tableau, data mining and reporting. My university business analysis project developed the complementary skills to clarify stakeholder needs: I mapped a service-booking process, prioritised requirements and prepared a concise business case. My CompTIA Data+ certification and BCS qualification further support my readiness to apply both analytical and business perspectives. I am particularly interested in Meridian’s practical approach and its support with applications, mock interviews and access to suitable entry-level opportunities. I have continued developing my skills through documented portfolio work, and I am ready to put that preparation to work in a data analyst role.
