I compared cybersecurity standards and best practices, including ISO/IEC 27001 concepts, to create a reference matrix for reviewing policies and controls in a simulated campus environment. I gathered configuration and policy evidence for supervised audit exercises, summarized control gaps in concise reports, and checked that recommendations matched the documented findings. I am comfortable explaining risk and control issues to technical and nontechnical audiences. Asterline’s focus on evaluating security controls, risk, and compliance aligns directly with my academic audit and research work. I am pursuing a B.S. in Cybersecurity, hold the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), and want to continue building practical assurance skills through this internship.
