As a full-time cybersecurity student at Wright State University, expected to graduate in 2027, I am excited by the chance to apply my research and lab experience to practical cybersecurity challenges. CivicShield’s focus on research and operations aligns closely with the work I have pursued across adversary emulation , cyber forensics, threat intelligence, and secure system design. In my current role as an undergraduate research assistant, I build repeatable adversary emulation scenarios in an isolated lab, map simulated behaviors to MITRE ATT&CK , and document detection opportunities for research reviews. For a deception study, I configured decoy services and analyzed Zeek and Wireshark telemetry to characterize simulated intruder activity without exposing production systems. This work has taught me to approach operational questions carefully and communicate findings in a form others can use. My academic projects have prepared me to contribute across several areas listed for the internship. For my cybersecurity capstone, I developed an isolated operational technology testbed with simulated controller traffic and applied NIST SP 800-82 guidance to examine monitoring and incident response choices. I have further applied Autopsy in a simulated intrusion investigation, reviewed IoT and Android test devices in a supervised lab, and drafted a cyber policy proposal addressing access control, incident escalation, and evidence preservation. My work has earned Dean’s List recognition and an Undergraduate Research Poster Commendation. I am particularly interested in bringing this mix of research, hands-on lab work, and public service to CivicShield. Volunteering at community digital safety workshops has reinforced my interest in cybersecurity work with practical value for others. I remain enrolled full-time and plan to continue my studies through the semester following the internship. As a U.S. citizen, I am prepared to complete the required background screening and be considered for a security clearance if an assignment calls for it. Thank you for considering my application.
