I have 27 years in law enforcement, including more than 20 years in command roles , and hold a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with coursework in police administration. One example of my approach to personnel leadership is the supervisor mentoring and wellness program I established in Briar Glen. It includes confidential referral pathways and regular check-ins, giving department members structured access to early support. I have carried that focus into supervisor coaching and field training, helping personnel strengthen communication, de-escalation, and sound operational decision-making. Community partnership has been a consistent part of my command work. In Briar Glen, I convene residents, neighborhood groups, campus representatives, and service partners to address recurring concerns and coordinate practical responses. Earlier, in Alder Creek, I built recurring coordination sessions with neighborhood and campus stakeholders to resolve quality-of-life issues before they escalated into repeated calls. I would bring this collaborative, problem-solving approach to the department’s work with Lexington residents and community organizations. My qualifications include Virginia POST certification , a valid Virginia driver’s license, and FBI National Academy training . I am prepared to meet the stated screening requirements.
